These are Bristol materials designed to be downloaded and used as alternatives to the DfES bridging unit "Transition from Year 6 to Year 7 English".
There are three alternative units:
- 'KS2/3 Transition Unit Lessons' this is the original piloted in 2002/2003
- 'KS2/3: Transition Unit. Generic lesson plans (to use with departments' own fiction texts)' This allows departments to fit the unit in with their own fiction reading or autobiographical writing in the first term of Year 7.
- 'Level 3: Transition Lessons'. This is alternative differentiated work for pupils working at a lower level than in 1 & 2.
