Association for Science Education
A useful website with information about ASE conferences, local events and publications. Very good for Science Subject Leaders.

BBC
This site has useful activities for KS2 revision for SATS.

Brainpop
A fun, colourful site with simulations and animations from pollination to gravity. Very American but great fun!

The British Association
The British Association for the Advancement of Science is the brain behind Science Week, which runs in March each year. They have packs of ideas and activities for science clubs or a science fair.

CLEAPPS
This is the first port of call for all queries about health and safety in science. Bristol is a member of CLEAPSS and you have access to all services, details of which are on the site. You can find details of the CLEAPSS helpline, technicians' courses and publications, which include booklets on health and safety, science accommodation and teaching ideas.

Cyberschool
The science adviser at Manchester LEA has written a spreadsheet to allow you to analyse your Key Stage 2 or 3 SATs papers. Each answer is given a category and a content code. You could use it to identify areas of content which are taught well or types of question which are answered badly.

Dragonfly: Trees
Trees and seed dispersal, including suggested experiments. Some American trees included, but still very good.

Engineering Interact
Interactive science & engineering site launched by Cambridge University for 9 - 11 year olds. Lots of games and resources.

Espresso
The Espresso for Schools/Primary broadband curriculum service is now fully commercially launched.

Exploratorium
Lots of exciting and different activities to brighten up any science lesson!

Fourmilab
Great for Earth and beyond with fabulous real time images of the Earth from space.

Fun explorations of how a vast range of things work.

Useful for teachers and pupils. Some interactive and informative activities ranging from the Sun,Moon and Earth to microbes - great!

Natural History Museum
The National History Museum site - this provides fun interactive activities and information about the museum.

NatureGrid
Superb site for 'virtual' pond dipping, exploring woodland and grassland. Lots of activities and teaching suggestions. A must.

One-Stop Science
Useful science publications to support teaching and learning with some resources available for downloading. Some great resources for science starters.

Planet Science
An excellent website covering many areas of the science curriculum. Great activities and ideas for practical investigations.

Roger Frost
Roger Frost has written much on the use of ICT in Science. A useful and informative site with lots of ideas on using ICT in your Science lessons - some great ideas for dataloggers!

Rough Science
Full of good materials and teaching ideas.

SCIcentre - National Centre for Initial Teacher Training
This site provides a very useful bank of self study materials aimed at supporting and developing primary teachers science knowledge and understanding. If your feeling a bit wobbly about any aspect of the Science curriculum this would be a great help!

The Science Explorer
Novel ideas for experiments, some very messy ones - children will love them!

AstraZeneka Teaching Trust
Fantastic website for science teachers and subject leaders. Ideas, teaching methods and resources for improving teaching and learning in science. The online CPD materials are a must!

Science Year
Activity ideas, information on events and initiatives and lots more. This is aimed at teachers working with children between the ages of 10 and 19.

Spark Island
This is a fun, child friendly site that offers interactive activities related to the core subjects. The Science activities are super. This site is available through subscription but they do offer a free trial - have a look!

Teacher Net
A great site for teachers resources, lesson ideas etc. Linked to the QCA Scheme of Work for Science.

Teacherxpress
A huge links site for teachers. You can find links to museums, publishers, educational sites specific to science and much more.

Teaching Ideas - Science
A collection of ideas for practical science activities, teaching approaches and written resources.

Virtual Teacher Centre
A site that searches for curriculum resources for teachers. Lots of good science links.
