For your convenience, we have created a zip file so that you can download them all at once.
This zip file does not include Bristol Levelling Guidance.
Right click on the link "Planning guidance and support units" on the left. "Save target as" and save the zip file on your PC. You can then extract all the folders.
Alternatively use the other links on the left to view and download the files indivudally.
Once you have downloaded them, you can select, adapt and use them for your own individual teaching and learning requirements.
Bristol Planning Guidance and Support was created by Bristol Literacy Consultants in 2005/6, in order to:
- Create a generic teaching programme which would raise the achievement in writing over a 2 week unit of work in literacy.
- Address the planning needs of Year 6 and closely follow NLS medium term plans.
- Give examples of mixed age planning taken from Lancashire LA (www.lancsngfl.ac.uk opens new window)
- Exemplify success criteria for a writing outcome over a variety of genres and across the key stages.
- Support assessment for learning strategies.
- Outline Planning Templates for a literacy unit of work.
- Give support for narrative writing in Foundation/Key Stage 1 and 2
- Offer EAL Guidance and Support
- Provide a bank of teaching and learning resources including plenary activities for literacy, useful teaching books, examples of ICT skills in literacy, recommended software and websites.
- Examine Guided Reading strategies for decoding and understanding texts as well as show running records and QCA Assessment Focus question proformas, planners and BB levelling charts.
