The Disabled Children Service

  • support from Social Workers to tackle particular issues or needs

    There is a duty Social Worker on these numbers from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays.

The Transition Information project - a partnership between Connexions and Social Services - helps young people with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities and their parents in the “transition” to adult life and services. Tel 0117 377 3878 and visit a drop-in session at the project - on Mondays and Wednesdays 9.30am to 4pm.

Bristol Register of Disabled Children - The service also keeps a register of disabled children. The register provides useful information that helps to plan services. It also helps us to stay in touch with disabled children and their families. For more information please see the leaflet or telephone 0117 903 8250.

Family Link - Social Care service providing short breaks for disabled children to stay with approved carers.

Play opportunities for disabled children- Co-ordinators work with the Disabled Children Service's Social Workers to provide information and advice about play opportunities for disabled children.
