CYPS has recently opened the Woodward Community Resource Centre in Fishponds. This is a former school and community education building.
On 20 th January 2007 it was opened by the Lord Mayor, Kerry McCarthy MP and Cllr. Jos Clark and a plaque was unveiled to commemorate the life of Bob Woodward who was a previous Community Education Manager who was very much respected in the community.
The Centre will promote community cohesion and will house a range of services: the Equalities and Inclusion Team and Induction and Assessment Team of CYPS, Busy Bees Nursery, Refugee Women of Bristol, CAP Research and Consulting Ltd, Fishponds Local Action Group. The One Vision project will particularly bring together the local ‘host community’, BME groups and newly arrived communities to work in partnership.
Training rooms, the hall etc can all be booked by community groups, supplementary schools etc.
