School Self-evaluation Framework - core document

The core document contains the following:

1. Workbook and Summary Sheets for:

  • Achievement and Standards
  • Personal Development and Well Being
  • Quality of Provision
  • Leadership & Management

The Workbooks provide evaluation criteria for each area of evaluation, suggested sources of evidence/evidence of impact and a space where schools can record their evaluation statements and their key priorities for development. (The workbook is intended as a supportive document and schools are not required to complete it.)

The Summary sheets capture the overall judgement for each area of evaluation. (For the core SIO monitoring visits, schools need to forward to the SIO/SIP, in advance of the meeting, completed copies of the summary sheets for the relevant sections and/or the relevant sections of the school’s SEF.

The Summary sheets and Workbooks can be down loaded as WORD documents and amended and forwarded to the School Improvement Service in preparation for School Improvement Officer visits.

2. Quality Standards for Self Evaluation grid.

This Grid provides descriptors which schools and SIOs can use to make judgements about the quality of school self evaluation.
