Primary School Admissions - New Bishopston Primary Places

Bristol City Council is proposing to open new education facilities at a site adjacent to Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and the City of Bristol College's Ashley Down site, known as the 'Brunel Field'. We will be able to offer 30 Reception places for September 2010. We are proposing that Ashley Down Junior School manages the new provision. This requires a change to the age range and an enlargement of the overall size of the school (but not an increase of numbers on the current site at Downend Road). We are currently part way through the statutory process required to enable them to do this with 'statutory notices' being published on 1 February 2010. There is then a 6 week representation period with a final decision at the end of March.

We will not be able to offer places at this provision until the statutory process is complete but you can express an interest for your child to attend the new provision. To do this you should download, complete and return the form 'Expression of interest', available via the link on the left, by e-mail to newbishopstonprimary@bristol.gov.uk. It should open in most word processing packages.

Completing and returning this form to express an interest in the new provision will not affect how we deal with your current school applications.

For more information on the proposal to extend the age range and enlarge Ashley Down Junior School go to the School Organisation page.
