The Children and Young People’s Service is beginning to align its service across 10 localities within the City, located in 3 Areas. The 3 Areas are Bristol Central and East, Bristol North and Bristol South.
The majority of Bristol’s electoral wards fall neatly within the 3 Areas but there are some which cross the Area boundaries.
The links listed at the bottom of this page are the summary of findings from the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment for the wards in the Bristol South area. Please could you note that the information in the summaries is a snapshot of findings during the period of the survey to give us comparable data, and is subject to change.
Each ward summary includes a map of the City showing Area and ward boundaries, followed by a map of the ward detailing the location of all childcare providers (except childminders, for reasons of security) in the ward. The summary then provides:
- An overview of the number of childcare places for 0-11year olds.
- The demand for places.
- Waiting lists.
- Vacancy lists.
- Occupancy.
- Affordability of childcare.
- Childcare costs
- Children from BME communities and disabled children
- Difficulties in finding childcare.
The ward finder on the Bristol City Council website (see link on the right) will help you identify which ward you live in and provide information about Super Output Area’s in your ward.
