The BCC CYPS Outreach service is available to parents/carers, employers and providers at various locations and Events/Festivals around Bristol.
Parents are contacted through Health Centres, parent drop-ins within Children’s Centres and parent & toddler groups. Parents with older children are reached through school parent evenings and school events. During these sessions parents are informed about:
- the service available from the CYPIS
- various different types of childcare options
- leisure activities for young children and youth services
- different types of tax credits and general questions answered
Parents are invited to give their contact details to the Outreach Co-ordinator so information relating to their area can be sent.
Employers breakfasts are organised every 6months where they can discuss/share ‘Work Life Balance’ issues. These sessions also enable employers to receive information on how the CYPIS can assist them with staff retention and break down any barriers around childcare. The CYPIS are able to offer outreach sessions to employees at convenient times to enable staff to have access to information relating to childcare, tax credits and family support.
The CYPIS attend local festivals offering lots of general information and freebies for attendees to take away. Contact details are taken for specific enquiries and further information is then sent.
