The Early Years and Childcare Service of Bristol City Council held 3 consultation events across the City in March 2009, to ask a range of organisations and agencies what their views were on the re-commissioning of the Community Family Workers Service. Responses were also invited by e-mail.
The Community Family Worker's Service (CFWS) is currently being delivered across the city by Barnardo's through a programme of home visiting and outreach work. The service contributes directly to the delivery of the Children's Centre Core Offer of providing preventative family support services for families with children under 5.
Families are supported to access the full range of local Children's Centre and family support services including parenting and family support, early learning and care, health and welfare services, and employment advice and guidance.
The purpose of the consultation was to ensure that the re-commissioned family support service would deliver the best possible outcomes for vulnerable children under 5 and their families
The report of responses sets out
- the background, scope and context for this consultation
- feedback on service priorities and commissioning options
