A revised admissions policy for Local Authority (LA) nursery schools and classes will apply to the allocation of places for September 2008 and subsequent years.
As previously, the priority is the allocation of a part-time early education place to all children aged 3 by the end of August. Thereafter if there are places remaining, priority for full time places must be given to Children Looked After, Children in Need and Children of Families with Specific Needs aged 3 by the end of August.
Each LA nursery school and school with nursery class should have its own written admissions policy for the nursery, a copy of which should be available at the school.
